Artificial intelligence and its influence on industrial design

Artificial intelligence (AI) is making inroads into more and more areas, it has done the same in industrial design. To delve into this point, it is important to remember what it consists of, this term is used in general to refer to applications created to perform complex tasks imitating human intervention. 

The incorporation of artificial intelligence technologies in design represents an important evolution for the industry. Specifically in the field of industrial design, AI influences and makes itself felt through the use of machine learning algorithms, which have the ability to analyze large volumes of data and subsequently extract patterns and trends necessary for product design. new and innovative.

Efficiency in the design process is another of the points in which AI has ventured, this is visualized from programs that can perform an analysis and suggest changes oriented towards functionality and even cost reduction.

Artificial intelligence is still a wide field of exploration, however, the tools it currently provides aim at creating designs with increasingly more precise parts and in less time. 

Likewise, it can be applied to improve the quality of existing products, analyzing images and products and identifying areas or aspects for improvement.

Industrial design aims to identify an opportunity or market or development need, improve and innovate from the creation of a product. It is a broad field whose demands are changing as society in general does. 

In order to provide answers to the current demands of this field, Miami Technology & Arts University proposes the program of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design, which aims to train professionals capable of developing products, processes and production systems that directly contribute to improving the quality of life within any community.

Throughout the program, students will learn to collaborate and contribute within multidisciplinary work teams, continually applying analysis and critical thinking to generate solutions to common and complex problems within the field of Industrial Design.
