Following an initiative of the International Federation of Interior Architects and Designers (IFI), May 31 was set as World Interior Design Day. The commemoration aims to highlight the influence and work carried out by professionals in this field. 

It seeks to attract the attention of the public, contribute to the promotion of knowledge and understanding of this activity, in addition, encourage cooperation between professionals and highlight their contribution in different areas of society.

It is a current profession, increasingly present and valued, it is responsible for creating, designing and improving any internal space of a structure, making it habitable, comfortable and functional for the use for which it is intended. 

It combines textures, colors, lighting, space, planning, all technical and creative aspects. Its correct application favors the well-being, both physical and emotional, of people, helping to create and condition spaces that are part of daily activities. 

The professionals dedicated to this area must identify the essence that identifies the place or project in order to create a design according to the space, time, place and objective of the same. Currently they must have skills, competencies and general knowledge about other related specialties, taking into account that a totally inclusive work. 

In this sense, Miami Technology & Arts University proposes the Interior Design program with the objective of developing in its students specific skills and competences in planning, design, and specific technologies for this field. 

It seeks that its graduates can offer practical, artistic and sustainable designs for commercial, industrial, residential use and distribution and any habitable space. Additionally, the students will obtain knowledge of tools applicable to the implementation of scenery for theater, television, and cinema.

Students in this program will be able to apply their analytical and critical thinking skills to carry out diagnoses, plan and manage interior design projects.
